Experience the heart of Cambodia, from the bustling capital to ancient temples.

Founded in 1434 to succeed Angkor Thom, Phnom Penh was reestablished as the capital by King Norodom in 1865. Historically functioning as a processing center for textiles and pharmaceuticals, the city developed into a hub for higher learning with institutions like the National University of Phnom Penh (founded in 1956) and various schools dedicated to engineering and agricultural sciences.
Located within this historic and academic landscape is the Royal Academy of Cambodia (RAC), the nation's premier academic institution. The RAC venue is equipped with modern auditoriums and features extensive green spaces that are ideally suited for specialized activities such as rain demonstrations.

Participants will travel north from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap (approx. 5-6 hours by bus/flight) to explore the historic wonders of the Khmer Empire. The focal point of this tour is Angkor Wat, the world's largest religious structure, constructed during the 12th century by King Suryavarman II.
Covering some 400 acres (160 hectares) and comprising more than a thousand individual buildings, this vast complex represents the true high point of Khmer architecture. Within this setting, the tour will look beyond the artistic grandeur to investigate the sophisticated ancient hydraulic engineering that powered the civilization, examining how vital water management was seamlessly integrated into one of the world's great cultural wonders.
Days 5-6 (September 5-6, 2026) - Explore the ancient hydraulic systems of Angkor and discover how the Khmer Empire mastered water management over 800 years ago.
